Vancity Showdown and Influential Sports Inc. has developed the following plan in an effort to ensure the health and safety of the various hotels and venues we will be working with, including Inn at the Quay and Massey Theatre.
This plan is based on B.C.’s Restart Plan – Phase 3 and is subject to adaptations as per the guidelines and updates from the B.C. government. This plan will also take into account the Massey Theatre – Guide to Reopening plan as well as the Inn at the Quay protocols and processes.
Our primary goal is to protect the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and athletes.Section 2: Equipment and Supplies

- Each athlete will be provided with a mask in their athlete bags (in case they do not have their own)

Section 3: Athletes Meeting
The first time the athletes come to the Athletes Meeting is the first and most pertinent touchpoint. The athletes will come in with masks on, use sanitizer, and answer the Screening Questionnaire as per Appendix A. This questionnaire will aid in identifying and assessing symptoms as well as potential contact tracing. The athletes will then have their temperature checked and recorded. Any athlete with a temperature reading above 37.2° Celsius will not be allowed to enter the venue or compete in the Vancity Showdown. Any athlete that does not pass the Screening Questionnaire will not be allowed to enter the venue or compete in the Vancity Showdown.
At the entrance of the host hotel, signage as per Appendix C will be posted
The forms to be signed by athletes will be in an envelope in each athlete’s bag once they have proven their CPA membership and ID. Staff to handle forms will wear gloves. Once all information verified, athlete to sign form with provided pen and staff will insert form into envelope.
Section 4: Show Day

Any athlete with a temperature reading above 37.2° Celsius will not be allowed to enter the venue or compete in the Vancity Showdown. Any athlete that does not pass the Screening Questionnaire will not be allowed to enter the venue or compete in the Vancity Showdown. The athletes and staff will utilize the front lobby and general seating area as the Backstage Area. The downstairs pit will not be used. There will be a maximum of 30 athletes in the building at a given time and a maximum of 20 staff members, including judges.
Each athlete will be required to wear footwear until they reach the side of the stage at which point a plastic bin will be provided to place flip-flops, masks, and pump up bands. A staff member with face mask and gloves will transfer your belongings to the opposite site of the stage that you will be exiting. Women’s classes that have high heel shoes can wear these in the “staging area” and on stage, they do not need flip-flops.
Masks are not mandatory on stage for participants however they are required to be a mandatory 6 feet apart from each other. A maximum amount of 10 athletes will be allowed on stage at 1 time with 6 feet around them clear from any other individual.
One class will be judged at a time. There will be no pre-judging, rather the individual posing, comparisons, and awards will be done altogether.
